No doubt this future hall of famer did numbers for the navy blue and white squad. Who could forget the 2000 Subway Series? As a Mets fan, I sure won't. However, as a fan of the game itself, Jeter gets my respect. This was pure talent he displayed on the field. No steroids or performance enhancing drugs in his system. No corruption or crimes in his history sheet. Being team captain for the Yankees since 2003, he's been a role model for the younger players out there.
This guy played with some GREATS throughout is career. Tino Martinez. Jorge Posada. Bernie Williams. Dwight Gooden. Darryl Strawberry. Andy Pettitte. Mariano Rivera. This clubhouse is full of greatness. If anyone deserves a salute for delivering a great overall game, great sportsmanlike conduct on and off the field, and just being the great person that he is, Derek Jeter deserves any and every reward. For this, I salute Mr. November. Thank you for being showing that there's a way to play the game that legal and healthy way. Thanks for always doing it for the fans and teaching those who admire you to be great. And thanks for hitting that field for the past 20 years and doing what you do best. That Hall of Fame call is coming for you in no time. Salute to The Captain
